i quote "with the exemption of very few".
having a choice does not mean you can easily exploit your freedom to choose, if only for something as superficial as showbiz. look around you, are there any decent and noteworthy filipino movies nowadays? i admire other artist who are truly good at their craft and those who truly deserves to be there. most, if not all start in showbiz because they are either sons and daughters of somebody already famous(even if they dont have the talents to boot). while some manage to enter the industry in their bikini clad bodies...
obviously this industry is promoting a twisted mindset to the masses. talk about teleseryes, aside from them lacking originality, and predictable plot, the story is usually about somebody abusing somebody. killing and scheming is just a norm. what does that imply to the young kids who are watching? and even the adults? they create drama kings and queens who are so engrossed with the lousy stuff they see on tv. to make matters worst, do they learn anything from it?
these so called reality search is selling the idea that you have to be a celebrity to be rich and famous. because of this, people flock auditions and spend their time and money preparing for such. if they dont get in this time, maybe they will the next time...so they do what it takes to be prepared for the next, neglecting the essentials as they go along like their studies.
and saying that school is an OBSTACLE for young people to develop their talents causes them to miss the golden opportunities to become rich and famous overnight... are you even thinking? what opportunity are you talking about? the opportunity to throw your future away only to be humiliated and ridiculed for the world to see?
i dont have anything against you personally but what your saying is totally disturbing. now my pessimism towards what your are promoting is confirmed - that pinoy showbiz really gives people sick and shallow ideas about life.
