it's not really during the race that the cruelty is inflicted.. it's all behind the scene. kng mauso mn gud ni, tendency is mutake advantage mga breeder ani, and then they'd start mating dogs to get that "ULTIMATE" fastest runner.. sige, given that they do get that best combination of genes, how about the not-so-fast dogs? do you really think they'd waste resources on those dogs? and im sure they wont keep them kay dli mn pud nila mabreed kay for them they're not fit enough run, and certainly not good enough to breed. so they will be left on the streets.. then these dogs will mate with other dogs.. and so on and so forth. another askals in the making. unya ibutang nato mejo "humane" kunuhay ang breeder, dili tuod nila ilabay sa streets, pro you think they'll be taken care of? kng daghan na sila, maatiman pa kaha? not giving shelter or providing for animals IS CRUELTY. kng ganahan mog lumba, kamoy dagan.

sakto gyd ka mam......only the organizers(politician who plan this idea) will be the only one benifited by this.......but for the dogs mag ampo lang gyud cla na maka daog permi para cla maka tilaw ug treatment na nice sa ila amo pero impossible pud ug permi maka daog....any form of gambling is always not good but good for the organizers...they make money out of it.

u have ur point gyud.....of raman kng mag racing ang dog para maka exercise but involve naman gud ug kwarta which i think gambling gyud cya...unya maning kamot gyud ang owner sa greyhound nga mudaog kay ni invest naman cya sa dog but if dli kadaog baliwalaon ra to nya ang dog....breed nasad cya ug lain....which i think ang mga reject na nga dog para nila ila nalang pasagdan so magka daghan ang mga unwanted dogs adto rasad padulong sa dog pound...ang kapait kay ang dog pound nato gamay ra ug budget....pro kung ang project gani about gambling abtik kaau ato uban leaders dako pa gyud ug budget e allocate.

kuyaw diay ko ani maguna-una ug apil sa dog racing kusog man kau ko mu babag ani dri actually,ganahan cla or thrilled cla makakita personally kay they've seen that only on tv,they want to see greyhounds personally,etc.but just like anything else,most will come to 'waste' once madugay.do u rily think that the organizers of this event rily has so much passion with regards to the welfare of the animals in it,as in rily do 'hands on' care for the racing dogs they owned which will be involved?exactly...a big NO.same as in horses,they will hire jockeys(or handlers/trainers,etc.),same as in horses money (or bit of fame) is the AIM which will be a thing mostly for the political 'big wigs' (as usual!) but compared with horses which cost a lot more than an SUV...dogs no matter how high priced are still cheaper which means that they cost a little concern to put in a 'trash' onced 'used'.
if you look at the HISTORY of dog racing,they are developed by 'low life' people as a 'GAMBLING PAST TIME' coz they are a lot cheaper than horses...hence the phrase 'POOR MAN'S HORSE' !in the philippines we do all sorts of gambling with animals,we overlook the pain & suffering that they felt,just for us to be entertained or to be full(or otherwise 'empty') in pockets...dogfighting,cockfighting,horse racing and or fighting,even spider fighting.And just because we are getting something 'good' in it..we tend to make EXCUSES like its in our culture,its a 'filipino sport' & ALL THOSE CRAP OF STUPID & SELFISH REASONING NOT TO MENTION 'NON SENSE'....havent we satisfied our tastes yet for being 'ENTERTAINMENT HUNGRY & LOWLIFE GAMBLERS' that we have to drag MAN'S BESTFRIEND' YET AGAIN!?!!!!

Well,thank u 4 stating ur stand..BUT u missed the point of course there is nothing wrong with a 'running dog' & its not the thought of 'A pack of dogs running in the racetrack' that bugs us off but its the thought of gambling,the cruelty that will be forced upon the dogs later on,the unscrupulous breeding of these racetrack runners later on,the contribution of the breeders of these dogs to the pet overpopulation later on,etc.do you really honestly think that the people in this so called sport are dog lovers who'll went to the track to watch greyhounds in action?at 1st cguro kay out of curiosity, but later on they will went in to gamble...and do nothing else but gamble!
much so may i remind everyone who's sooo involved in this so called sport (that they developed insomnia over the anxious waiting of the sport to finally surface,wherever it is in cebu!) that the dog is so called MAN'S BEST FRIEND to provide companionship and provide unwavering loyalty at the same time they can be utilized for many lifesaving,utilitarian purposes......it is not a mode or being of a ''GAMBLING AID' sort of a thing nor it is not made to ENTERTAIN LOW LIFE GAMBLERS!!!
