You could read a very good book by philosopher, Ravi Zacharias, "Can Man Live Without God." Naa sa National. One of the best books I've read in a long time.

what are some of its , lets say bad effects. of having a close minded religion.

why should we be aware of it?

why should't we let religion led our lives.?

what are some incidents happend due to this belief.

If you have a True Religion towards GOD that is being preached by the bible you will be:
1. God fearing (fear to do things which is against God's will)
2. You wont take drugs
3. you wont drink Strong wine
4. you wont smoke
5. you will not seek another partner (wife/husband).
6. you will learn how to consider others
7. you will learn not to gamble
8. you will learn not to steal
9. you will learn not to do bad things

and so on...
think of any good then that's the result of having a True Religion from GOD.

This is not my opinion but from what history tells us about it. This is what religion gave us: WAR and VIOLENCE. Beginning CE 1000-1650 there were more than two thousand recorded events related to war and violence. (An Encyclopedia of Global Warfare and Civilization). This doesn't account the wars and violence before 1000 CE and after 1650 and onwards.
