Walay ebidensya nga may reincarnation. It's just philosophy. Trying to figure out what comes next. People trying to have hope that there is more than emptiness after the grave and something better than hell after the grave.
No one can prove it. But Jesus Christ came for just that reason. To give us something to hope in (eternal life and forgiveness of sin) and to give us something better than hell (heaven). The difference with Jesus and the other philosophers is that the other philosophers died and never came back to tell us if they were right or wrong. Jesus proved that everything he told us was true when he predicted His resurrection and actually came back from the dead as history confirms.

speculations are endless w/ this type of question bro,
though one key concept that may guide our guessing is that- "nothing happens by chance or accidents" , a grander meaning & purpose are always taking place to establish balance & harmony in this spectrum of life that we are swimming.

Belief in reincarnation provides a beautiful fantasy world
in which a person can find the proper avenue of ego expression
but at the same time claim to have dissolved his ego.

    A state of conscious dream.

yes this is also acceptable, in the end we choose the kind of fantasy that will appeal to our intellect & will sound less absurd to our dignity,,,to keep our sanity intact so to say.

Yeah, whatever we believe are something we cannot claim into objectivity. Therefore, it is safe to say that all beliefs are fantasy.

Healthy human mind need to grasp beliefs/postulates for the answer to seemingly never-ending philosophical questions....like where are we going after this world?...especially to those , by experience, validated the truth of a deathless self...the belief of karma and reincarnation is the most sane fantasy...

I assume that I prevented him in creating his own karma, the question is, does my doing benefits me?
you have only prevented him from robbing the bank. that's all. your help depends on your sincerity. it depends on your sponsoring thought. your karma will always be there. it does not depend if you do good or bad, because karma is neither good nor bad. it neither rewards nor punishes. your sincerity will beget sincerity. you will only reap what you only sow. that's all.
