Well there are rules naman in the study of the Occult Arts di ba? One of the basic rules naman kse is

1. To Will
2. To Know
3. To Dare
4. and to keep Silent

Occult is not secret when it comes to resources since there are a lot of people studying it and books are very much available, however its the actual application of the art that is hidden and secret... you can't see people do Rituals in the open do you?

Personally, with reference to my glossary, pranic healing is an occult science...

nothing occult/hidden about pranic healing po, even if pranic healers wud say that its occult
its like learning the art of "massage".

Occult articles & literatures are widely available na, pero what makes it "occult" are the meanings behind meanings,
if a person is able to read occult literatures it doesnt have to follow that his an occultist, he just simply know how to read
or the least proclaim oneself as an occultist,,,not so much malayo sa mga tao na marunung bumasa ng bible who excitedly proclaim; "i know god" "im religious" "im toink"

Pranic healing my friend is manipulation of subtle energies for healing...maybe the basic sounds like very very easy...but it is more than that...in the sense it is secret, because a teacher can only guide you and offer the basics but the mastery of the art will sum up only thru you and no one else...it's very essense is something cannot be taught...like any other occult sciences...

For me ms charm is right, pranic healing is pranic healing, nothing hidden or occult about it, what makes it special is that theres no "physical touching" involve, its the same concept w/ religious laying of hands in the attempt to heal a sick person via god concept. The basic is- Energy Follows Thought", im a pranic healer myself & studied reike healing as well, its simply cleansing & revitalizing the etheric body & its chakras.

If theres any essence of the art it would be- "Energy Follows Thought"
and from this concept one may use or misused energy for personal end.

I may agree with you right there...I am also a pranic healer and was a reiki student...although I learned pranic healing without any teacher, reiki is a good step for me...

sometimes stuffs that can be put under the term "occult science" is relative and it's definition may depend on culture, age, and any other factor...eventhough Mr. Webster may define it objectively...

I've always consider pranic healing to be occult... "energy follows thought", is not that simple...If you have clairvoyant eyes, giving energy to others is not that simple...sometimes it's way beyond words...in the sense it's secret...there's always something hidden...
