I wonder if there are any local entertainers reading this thread, especially these allegations that there is so much "sin", "immorality" and "atheist influence" in showbiz.

If you know someone, tell him/her about this thread.

I know a few Sinulog dancers in another barangay who are internet enthusiasts (but are not members of Istorya).

There is so much IMMORALITY in Cebuano entertainment because their members believe that immorality and atheism are "cool". They distances themselves so much from God, they become knights of immorality.

Just look at the pathetic people below



As for making showbiz a form of livelihood, people are better off staying away from entertainment, go back home to their families, read the Holy Bible more and praise God with the family at church!

There is no surprise that the arts and entertainment industries get attacked by the very conservative people as well as the very religious ones. As such, allegations of immorality, pornography, and others follow.

Back to the health of Cebu's showbiz "industry", it's so depressing to hear stories that these talents (most notably the dancers) end up spending more than what they earn despite enjoying the lower cost of living here in Cebu (compared to Metro Manila at least).

P300 for take home pay is clearly higher than Region VII's minimum wage, yet these dancers feel that the pay is "too low" despite the fact that they don't dance all day to earn it. They claim that they spend a lot practicisng their moves, although they don't show proof.

As we can see here in this thread, someone religious is attacking local entertainment. I wonder if the poor economic opportunities of the local entertainers attract sympathy from anyone here.
