This is the question: what is the purpose of the brain according to evoutionary psychoogy?

According to David Barash, the brain's purpose is to direct our organs and our behavior in a way that maximizes our evolutionary success. Also, according to Edward Hagen of the Institute of Theoretical Biology, Berlin, the brain is like other parts of the body's system, it is complex in nature and does a specific and equally-complex action, to facilitate the survival, and later on, reproduction of the organism.

By these, I could then say that in evolutionary psychology, the brain's main function is to assure the survival, and reproduction of a specie by guiding the whole body systems the right actions in preserving their specie. "That's it."

.for me, "pakikisama" is linked with conformity and unity. Conformity in a sense that "nakikisama" ka sa ibang grupo to BELONG. If you won't go and "conform" to your own distinct group you'll be judged and labelled to as deviant. Conforming is also a way of survival. The more you "pakisama", the more you'll likely survive and preserve your own culture.
