Moses was a great mystic, he had achieved mastery in mysticism. no wonder he can produced magical phenomena.
and i believe that Moses was able to hand down his wisdom and skills to his disciples w/c later on taught other disciples too like Elisha, elijah and other prophets.
Remember the Magi of the New testament? they were not jews but how did they get to know the birth of Jesus? there is only one explanation. These people were students if not masters of mysticism.
Mystics were the great people of ancient times.
