you should have not mentioned "2nd year with backsubjects". you should only mention 2nd year and it's up to them to discover if you have backsubjects. They stop the interview because they want you to finish your studies first, it's more important than having a job. But if you really need the job find a way to let them know.

I have a lot of officemates here who are graduates of engineering, accountancy, Psychology, nursing, etc.etc who are still working for 3 years now because they NEED the job!. The idea that graduates will resign, NO! if they need the job.

well, the whole point of getting a job is to make money to finish studying. You can't study without money.

well, some stay in the company, some dont. Some probably have their jobs grow on them already. A bond. Family. Some have worked at it too long that they feel they can't do any other job. Some love the pay. They NEED it because they can't find any other job that pays well, not even their own niche. But eventually, when you get older, you long for a career..the one you finished. AFterall, that's the whole point of why you finish your studies right?

I'm no HR but this is what i observe.

Please take into account sad also, that an undergrad does not guarantee to resign..

Most of my college batch mates went for call center during our third year and most of them now are back to school not because they already have the money to pay (they can even still pay b4 yet they choose to work) but they just want to graduate...

Those hired undergrads are thinking doing part time school and full time job, so you are torn between two things and can't focus perfectly on one.
