we are supposed to pray for HELP (yes help, not perfect solutions) while at the same time doing everything we can
Thats how Unbelievers logic works... their common sense is at the lowest level... do not know what is certain only for one thing "there is no God, but blame him for everything". FUNNY RIGHT?

Speculative? In what way was it speculative, or you are just stating another biased opinion.

prayers with no work is futile
if those peeps did DO something aside from praying...they wouldn't need to bury their loved ones.

*IMO, your prayer is like a "chaser" to a blissfully satisfying "AMATZ"....pointless mag laklak ng chaser lang.lolz
yes prayers with no work is futile. and doing something on top of praying is even better.

but even with prayers and "doing something" you still cant guarantee that the person will live. although this is not in the context of the discussion, i find it important to note that our lives is not in our hands. it is not for us to decide when a person will die. bsan unsaon pa nimo pag ampo nga di mamatay ang usa ka taw, if time na gyud niya, mamatay jud sya. same lng pud ug bsan unsa kadaghan nga tambal imong ihatag, bsan unsa nga medical procedures, if time na gyud niya, time na gyud niya.

i think we also need to know how to pray. it is not only about repetitive prayers and miracles. if some one is in his death bed, instead of praying for a miracle that the person will live...it is better to pray for a peaceful passing. pray for strength so that you will not feel so alone in ur loss. pray for his soul, so that he will be peaceful as he prepares to meet Jesus. prayer is also about acceptance of the things we cant control, like death. it is about surrender and finding serenity within us. it helps cope with events that are so overwhelming that we feel like its the worst thing that could ever happen to us.

thing is, faith is very subjective. you cant put it in a box and try to analyze it. its either you have it or dont have it. its useless trying to dissect it if you dont believe it in the first place.

put into context what happened in wisconsin death trip...what the frell can we learn from such incident.

well in this context, the lives LOST was in their hands. praying hands.

do you consider prayer as an INACTION? by itself?

    somebody once said:
"one helping hand is better compared to a thousands clamped in prayer"

You will call it such, because you do not believe in it in the first place, the same way with the monks just sitting all day.
