of course, i am not surprised that IBP reacted that way because if the country is in a state of emergency or martial rule there will be less moolah for them because there will be lesser litigation.

you accuse the IBP of having a rather dark, ulterior motive for its presenting itself, challenging the PP1017 at the Supreme Court. why fail to mention the dark ulterior motive of the president then? because there isn't any? wow. double standard.

you say that she declared it because it is "within the interest of the nation", when in fact is was nothing but within her own interest. it was a threat to her own administration and NOT against the state nor the nation.whether we like it or not, the person sitting in malacanang is NOT the nation. the last time i heard this country was suppose to be a representative democracy, not an authoritarian monarchy. but with her acting like a monarch is all the more reason to remove her.

is this your mere opinion or theory?Â* do you know why the opposition was well represented by the IBP?Â* because they all belong to one very solid and influential fraternity all the key players guingona included and i know this for a fact. and this fraternity unfortunately belongs to the opposition. so you see, they are not really fighting for what is right.

on a different note, why did the IBP react to Cebu City's move to expose judges that dismisses big drug cases?Â* i have even personal information why the "most celebrated" drug case in cebu which involved a fiscal, 2 judges and 1 CA justice in the payroll was dismissed.

whatever you say about our system of government, WHOEVER sits in malacanang is the nation. whether you or I like it or not. it's just like saying that the supreme court can do whatever they want with our constitution and rule of law. go figure again...

withdrawal of support is not coup ....call it karma with todays situation... even general senga is very carefull on saying theres no coup in the news tv only Garci generals like esperon ..etc.are saying coup coup.. anyway the political battle is won the challengers should just support GMA they can never win against this strong woman

exactly! let's just say they don't like her. as long as what she is doing is not "plunderous" and her indiscretions are not that flagrant unlike erap. then i believe that she is still worth her term.

question now is why can't the opposition wait? if GMA won't step down after her term, then I myself will be the first one to go fuente. but this still remains to be seen, because there might be a shift in our government system.

let me cross the bridge NOW, hypothetically, if ever that happens and it will make her eligible to run again then i believe if this change should happen then it would be best under this current president's leadership.

No. That is NOT the case. For the President to declare a state of emergency certain conditions MUST be met. It is NOT simply her prerogative. If those conditions are not met, then anyone can (and should) challenge the validity of the declaration. The president does NOT have absolute discretion to declare anything she wants. Get that straight.

yes i do agree with this. BUT if there are no petitions filed against such declaration, then nothing follows. so there goes the IBP challenging its validity. but since the PP1017 has already been lifted, some say it is already moot and academic regardless if it was valid or not. if the Supreme Court sees it that way, ma-dismiss ra na tanan petitions..which i think is most likely to happen.

Rebel turns state witness, pins rebellion on lawmakers

MANILA -- A member of the communist group was presented by police Monday as a witness against five legislators facing rebellion charges before the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The five party list congressmen were given time to answer the rebellion charges against them but the justice department said it would resolve the case based on existing evidence if the legislators would not hand in their reply within the deadline.
