thinks i have learned recently??.....

there are 2 types of black-holes. Ordinary black holes occures after a type1 explosion star.

Super massive black holes located in the center of a galaxy. If a super massive black hole captures a near by star, it forms a quasars (active galaxy)

Of course super massive black hole is present in our own galaxy, the milky way. Please read Sagittarius A* where our own super massive black hole should be present. We can't see it but we can monitor the activity surrounding it.

While it can be "loosely" associated with astronomy, the study of black hole origins (as contrasted to studying it observationally/via xray/via radio emissions) is better categorized under the realm of astrophysics and cosmology.

exactly... =) most hardcore astronomers are astrophysicists... in fact almost all of them are... The reason why I took Applied Physics at USC was because I wanted to become an astrophysicist. haha! But eventually, I found my love for optics/photonics. hehe =)
