We can say word of mouth costs only P 1.00 per person while mass media advertising costs P 100,000. But you can tell the difference. How much time did it take for XXX-C to introduce into the mainstream by word of mouth? Now, how much time did it take for YYY-X to be known via mass media? I guess it will take thousands of years difference.
Mass media and networking serve the same purpose, but if the purpose is to send a message, then by all means networking is a very inefficient tool. In theory, yes it could be good, but practically and in the real world, it has been proven very inefficient.
