most houses in the philippines do not have grounding in their power outlets, so even minimal static/voltage spikes from lightning strikes goes directly to electronic circuits instead of diverting towards earth/ground. means 100% kill to circuits whilst there's a good chance it might survive if it's grounded to earth.

i tried that.... with out HUG dvd player...
pag kilat ni karat ang sound gikan sa HUG player... bisag amu nang ki labas pasok ang cd..
but na ayu ra man after pag restart sa player.... maypa ang baratuhun nga player lig-on pa![]()
