Help!! How to make a public network folder private??

This is the case:

There's this internet cafe nga amu pagatambayan sa amu barkada,
nahulog nani siya nga home namu and favorite tambayan kada break...
The issue now is that naa mi mga exclusive files sa amu barkada nga amu rajud
ipagasave sa usa ka folder sa server (the units are in the freeze mode, kung gus2 kah muSave
ug files imu pah isave sa usa ka network server), pagSauna kad2ng wala pa mauso sa amu ang
salida2x ang nakasave ra sa amu family folder kai mga PW client, notes, projects, assignments ug
uban pang files nga gamit namo... sukad atong gaSave nami ug mga salida nangasuya ang uban
ug ila giBantayan asa namu gipangtago ang movie files (naka hidden man amu folder, ug sayun
rajud tawn ang pagEdit sa search options), ug sukad nakahibaw na sila asa namu gipangsave
ang files naana sila'y access sa amu folder, ang nahitabo ron kai naai gabinuang ug giDelete ang tibuok
sulod sa folder (pasalamat siya wa namo siya maabti, kung naa pami ato buk2x jud to tawhana)..

ang pangutana karon kai, unsaon namu pagHimo ug folder nga kami rai makaabli? i.e., kanang naai
password nga folder, ug dili siya basta2x lang nga maDelete... para jud tawn ni sa
privacy sa amu grupo kontra sa mga hilabtanon nga tawo...

tabang tawn mga peepz kai abusado na kaayo ning ubang grupo sa manuwaay diri sa
internetan... kung magSige pani mura'g naa jud rumble mahitabo ani...
kanang detailed ang instructions and please apil nalang pud post ang link sa software
kung kailangan man ganeh para diretso...

@TS, just zip your private files and provide password. Use 7zip or Winrar.

ma delete man japn ang zip bro.. try ni Lock Hide folders. Password protect folder. Lock XP Vista Windows im not sure kung free rana siya nga software pro pangitae lang ug crack if ever naa bayad..

you can always create a hidden share, kamo ra barkada or family ang maka-access. just make sure nga kamo ra ang nakahibalo sa name sa folder. this one doesn't need a password to access the folder, it is just hidden.

create a folder then append $ to the folder name. share that folder. dili ni malista nga folder sa network kung normal ra nga directory listing, like i-open ang tanan shared folders sa server. you can name your folder anything you like, mas maayo kamo ra barkada maka remember.

example:

create a folder with the name diniparainyo$ in the server

share that folder

access it, \\server_name\diniparainyo$

regarding sa softwares posted by nyxgorf mao ni ako problem:

i tried to install the program sa usa ka test folder sa server, na install siya,
kaso lang kai dili siya maabli bisag kapila na nako giRepair ug giRestart ang unit...

pero sa ako laptop kanina buntag (which was a vista) effective kaayu ang software and
hell protective jud siya, pero usa rapud lageh ka drive and dili for sure sa usa ka shared
server nako g-install, hinuon wala pa nako sulayi ug install ang program
sa C: and observe if mawala bah jud ang program nig reset.. and if effective,
capable bah siya ug protect sa mga folders sa server which is in the workgroup computers...
gamay raman ko ug time kanina sa internetan gud mao nga limited rah akong
trial and errors...

ang case man gud kai ang units kai deep freeze.. any softwares installed sa unit
kai mawala right after restart, so ako gi-install ang software sa usa ka folder sa server
though i predict impossible....

any other solutions?

mao na ang pangutana ron kai dili nah default sa windows ang encrypted folders...

and if naa man ganeh maDelete rapud dayun....

wala baya mi control sa server, and deepfreeze tanan units....
