I agree with this. We have our own trials in life. It doesn't mean that when you're a Mormon or LDS you're not capable of making mistakes. I know a lot who have done more terrible things. And I'm not saying I am any better. The church is there to help the members and also non-members. To support them and encourage to endure and never give up despite of whatever bad thing you've done because that is what the adversary (Satan) wants us to feel - discouraged. That is his greatest and most effective weapon - Discouragement.

The church exhorts it's members to never be discouraged despite of our failures and shortcomings.

That is your opinion and I respect it. I know wala na 'brainwash' and mga nag-mission. Because I myself have served my mission in Davao last 2000-2002. I served because it was my desire to do so. I was not forced and besides the church doesn't force anyone to serve on a mission. Why did I spend 2 years walking and knocking on people's doors hoping they would be receptive, talking to people and accepting their insults and even threats, enduring the difficulties and challenges of missionary life? Because I had a good thing to tell people. And that thing is very important. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ and that His church has been restored. It is very important to me and I want to share it. That is what every single missionary feels.

No. I have only one wife. If my wife would know that I have a second wife, I'm dead - as in literally! The church would also impose penalty (excommunication) on me if I had two wives. Tsk... tsk...

The church teaches to love your wife/husband and treat each other as equals and partners in life. The church considers the family as the most important unit in the society and implements many programs to support and encourage to strengthen the family.

I don't know where you got this, but this is definitely false. I've heard of this many years ago. This is one of those attacks other churches create basing from some of our literature. They take one paragraph and link it to another distorting its original meaning so they can come up with an attack against the church. It is very sad that some people would go to that extent.

I would advise that if you really want to know LDS doctrines then you should hear about it from the LDS church itself.
