Well each martial art can do take-downs or face with multiple opponents. It's just a matter of training and how well versed you are in your art.... You just have to learn....
Men always carry a gun... the problem is it can't kill, it can even bring forth life.... hahahahahaha.......
But i think trying to shoot that kind of gun at a bad guy would most likely just make him more pissed......he he

ako selfdef strategy
run
if running wont work, grab a weapon ( anything around you will do)
if you cant find a weapon. hit him where it hurts most.
mao ra na....work all the time.
I agree....
But using the weapon and hitting him where it hurts might sometimes take some skills and thats where (F)MA comes in....
I think you need to be as all-round as possible as a Martial Artist, i teach my student fighting within all ranges and sparring against the knife, sparring knife vs. knife, sparring with ground fighting and sparring with the Eskrima Stick.
Like we use many kind of weapons from eskrima stick and knife to more special weapons and the gun....
Besides that i also use a teach a complete NLP and meditation system from Bujinkan (Ninjutsu).....
Most of the Eskrima is from Villasin style, but the knife and Wing Chun is from the Dacayana Eskrima System, our ground fighting comes from Ju-Jutsu, Thai/Kick-Boxing and Bujinkan.
(if you read my profile you will get a better understanding: http://www.fma-arnis.dk/about )
But i think the main reason you should train is that its fun....
(besides being healthy and good for protecting your self).
