you're both missing the point..
there is no democracy in religion precisely because of your arguments. in democracy, if you don't agree with the other people, you are still recognized by the government as a minority group.. you are given a voice to speak out your concerns. you are also given rights and some policies and laws that will protect your concerns.
but in religion, if you don't agree with other people, what do you do? you create another religion. it might be under the same "umbrella", but you're not recognized anymore with that "other" group, but instead as a separate "outcast" group. gets mo?now where's the democracy in that?
Politics = Common Good?
Yeah, for their "OWN GOOD" not for the masses.
Religion = What is good for God?
Religion is a group of individuals... you probably meant, faith and spirituality.
They will be briefed before the sermon. No gays are allowed, no sexy dressess, don't disturb people. But we don't discourage them as members of the church... i don't even care as long as he/she is not my friend. If he/she did then I will tell him those are no-no... my church just don't compromise... I could say there are gays among the church, but they fought for it... you just could'nt notice it until you personally know them... well its up to him who judge the man's heart.
I haven't gone to church for a yearI miss it.
