He would probably feel I'm a bad person because I didn't share.. so I'll tell him I gave it to my cousins so that papa will feel good about me." A child brought up with lots of conditions is always wary not to look "bad" in front of a parent, most especially if the parent has set such very high conditions for the child. And the poor kid, innocent as he is, will automatically do things based on emotion (not on contemplation) what will make him appear goody-two-shoes to his parents.

its a big irony that you call your child "innocent", yet you already label him as sinning. oh well, he's your child, not mine.

anyway, don't take my word for it.. just do your best as a parent.. there isn't any sure guide handbook of parenting around anyway..
Whatever my son felt that time is irrelevant, HE still lied, I am sure he felt bad already when he refused to share. I didn't condemned my son just because he lied with candies, i gave it out as an example why all have sinned, sin manifest itself whether we have reach the age of accountability or not. It is no use trying to make excuses.

That was long time ago, now that he has reached the age in which he is accountable for some of HIS actions, he knows better, no one is perfect he still commit mistakes, sin even lie.who don't? I do. but we learn from it and be better next time.

don't worry i will not take your word for it. I am doing my best to raise our son the best way we can, and the Judeo-Christian GOD is a big part of it. Have a nice day sir. God bless.

It didn't defeat the purpose at all, it shows the very nature of the Christian GOD, He is Holy and just. HE is govern by rules that is reflective of HIS nature of Holiness and truth so that in the end when HE judge everyone no one can question that judgment.
sorry to disappoint you.. but I'm not better than God in many ways. I just don't subscribe to your anthropomorphic idea of God which is very limited by the way. The Christian God according to your definition is just an idol you create for your own personal needs. Its a cultural god. How can you ascribe something that you made out of your own mind a personality to this God of yours? Then again, its for your own personal needs. So its up to you.. as long as your happy with your God. but that's not a universal god you talk of..

well, if you don't care how your son feels, its up to you. being righteous and disregarding your own son's feelings... hmm.. its your own style of parenting. nobody's making excuses.. its the natural tendency of kids who are pressured by many conditions of the parent.

how can you truly expect your son not to lie anymore when he was "taught" to lie from the very start out of fear towards you? and most especially if he was brought up that way for many years..

oh well, God Bless you too.

    I wasnt born a sinner.

Do I lie? Yeah but that doesnt mean that i was born a sinner.

Why do I lie? I have freewill. God has given me the choice and the ability to demonstrate my choice.

and there are many reasons why we lie...

and there are many reasons why we lie...

We all lie, but why do we lie? Sure, lying is both useful and sometimes even fun, yet there are fundamental reasons why we lie.

    These main reasons are:

    * Fear of harm: The easiest reason to understand why we lie is for self protection, including self deception, to prevent harm to ourselves. This harm can be either physical or mental.

    * Fear of conflict: To some degree, we all fear having an argument.

    * Fear of punishment: When growing up, how often did we lie about how well we did in school, or who started a fight? How often do we cover up our mistakes and transgressions?

    * Fear of rejection: Sometimes, our insecurities are the foundation of why we lie to each other, because we want to be remain popular in our relationships. Typically, it is harmless boasting to make ourselves appear more admirable to other people.

    * Fear of loss: This is usually the loss of personal objects, such as money or expensive valuables. Greed is the foundation for this reason and can be found in each of us. We often lie to make ourselves more desirable to other people too. Most common, people lie for fear of losing an opportunity to have ***. Other times, when our self esteem starts to decline, we even lie to ourselves as means to prevent loss of morale.

    * Altruistic Reasons: We often lie to help our friends and loved ones. How often do we flattery someone just to make them feel better? This is the only selfless reason why we lie.

Despite all the technical reasons why people lie, it all boils down to this:

The fundamental reason why people lie is because it mostly works.

And because lying has become more understood in today’s society, lying has become more acceptable. It has sometimes even become an admirable and useful social skill.

That is the Truth about Lies.
