I studied for a sem in MSU.. MSU itself is a beautiful place but when you get to the city.. geez.. not really good. Good thing MSU is really the destination in Marawi City.

Similarity with Baguio? Well, I totall agree on the weather -- so cool up there!!! as Marawi sits at an altitude of 2,300 feet above sea level...
I'm not sure about the years.. It moved backwards for many years and there's no collective effort among the people on making it move forward - there's an obvious lack of discipline. I have to acknowledge though that Mayor Solitario is different from all the previous mayors - with him, finally there's a garbage collector truck roaming around the city, road widening projects maski layo pa ang election, built a second bridge, functional ang city hall. It wasn't like that with the previous mayors nga mangolekta ra ug sweldo maski mga employees, kutob ra collect sweldo. However, not everyone thinks like he does. People just don't care and that's why I only lived there for a sem (gradschool in MSU and lived in the city proper).[br]Posted on: April 29, 2008, 07:09:42 AM_________________________________________________

tinuod sad ni. Wala man jud muslim-christian conflict didto.

Paet.

Oh well, from MSU view nice lantawon ang city, it reminds of kanang sa mga palestine times ...sometime soon if makakuha kog chance akong picturan.

neways, just like what aya_diwata mentioned above, sa time ni Mayor Solitario, hinlo ang city. been there for 5 months kay naka part time kog tudlo sa city gyud. Wala ko kabalo na karon coz wala nako ka bisita didto kay kafoyan nako. ...

dli ma compare ang baguio City sa marawi city para sa akoa, because lahi lahi man gud ang heritage ang giagian. To some, makakita sila og beauty sa marawi city... ang uban dili.

according to my father (pioneer batch ng msu), Marawi City (yes, including the city - not just MSU) was really a beautiful place in the 60's til 70's. It was called Baguio of the South because of the weather and greens around. It used to have a potential to be better than Baguio because it has a lake. Baguio doesn't have a body of water in their city.

However.. that's not the case now.

I grew up there. I don't care what other people say, it's the best place in the world for me.

Yah that's true...Marawi City is more beautiful than Baguio City...PERO not the city gyud mismo...it's the University that brought the place to it's fantastic view...the MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY Campus of Marawi City... Indeed, it's the finest place I've ever visited. The place, the views, the Sleeping Lady Mountain, the morning dew on the golf course field, the fog at 12noon...everything in there! Bugnaw pa gyud kaayo...13 to 16 degrees Celcius gud daw ang humidity didto.

Pero mas munindot pa gyud unta to didto kung Christian ang mga nagpuyo gyud didto...So sad lang nga lahi lang gyud nga culture ang naa didto...
