ayaw pada sa gts ky mau rana cla..hehe usik ra sa kwarta..
better keep ur 9800gt 1GB
ang first indicator sa performance sa card is price. though not always, but the logic behind is, manufacturers always relate performance to price, manufacturing technology and cost to price.
next step is to check at what resolution you would be using ure monitor at. so its an option now of RAM amount.
next is to check what would u be really using ure card at. if ure a gamer, ure card would usually be the high-end. nvidia labels this GTX, Ati labels this x8xx. examples are GTX285/275 and HD4870.
If for HTPC or Hi-def movies and productions, u would go for mid-high mid cards, which are usually price-performance checked, and dont use a lot of power. nvidia labels this GTS, ATi labels this the x7xx series. Examples of which are HD4770 and GTS250.
For general purpose, general online and low-graphics gaming, its low-high to mid cards, nvidia labels this GT, Ati labels it x6xx series, like 8500GT and 4670..
for NVidia, however, aside sa label GT, GTX and GTS, u also have to check ang numbering. so in actuality, an 8500GT, is supposed to be good for decent gaming, but its not, it actually sucks (sorry to all 8500gt users). which means, if u have 7900gt, keep it, its better. the naming adjustment is only to reflect support, 8-series for DX10..
so now, kaw na pili bro, hehehe..

insufficient bro? so this is just advertising then if we're to believe you:
"Each supports 18-, 24-, and 30-bit digital displays at all resolutions up to 1920x1200 (single-link DVI) or 2560x1600 (dual-link DVI)"*
tsk tsk, namutbot diay ang ATI.

It's better to keep the 9800gt, not worth the money upgrading to GTS250. But if you have spare cash, i think go for a higher model, lets say 260, 275, 285/4870, 4890.
Poldo: It depends on some games and benchmark programs, the 4850 can beat 9800gt in other games. If you are aiming for Crysis then go for Nvidia, Ati isn't good at all with Crysis Engine! The thing is are you really going to play Crysis all year long? Each gaming engine = different results. It's like Fear always ATI>Nvidia for that game. Anyway too many discussions between 4850 vs 9800gt/260 in almost all forums lol.
the word is not "insufficient" in its very sense. of course, mudagan ghapon, but the frame buffering u have from getting enaf RAM amounts sa imohang VC helps in maintaining the speed sa pag-display sa imohang picture sa screen, which means u get to maintain response time..
insufficient here does not mean un-usable.
^and definitely faster too. More power efficient ( 55nm core ). If I am to choose between the two I'll go for the GTS 250 hands down.
@andz
what do you mean by 9800gt/260?
