HARD DISK causes failure to power up after...

HELP computer enthusiasts...

After i improperly connect my SATA power connector to the power supply, i smell something like a burning thingy... I guess it was short circuit. After which, i properly swap it correctly, when i turn my PC on it then suddenly shuts off... I'm worried because the Affected HD has plenty of important files...

Is there a possibility that the HD can be repaired with intact important Files
if not, how can i save my files

I badly in need of any help. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. TY

ang board ra sa HD ang repairon ana bro.. ipaadto na ug electronic technician para mapulihan ug mga nasunog na piyesa, ako papa kantigo ana, kaso lang taga leyte to siya..

have you tried connecting it as a secondary or external hard disk to another system? di na ka kailangan mag boot pa from this hard disk but you can still access your files.
better siguro if itry nimo ni and mag backup sa ka sa imong files just in case d na gyud ma repair.

Actually, secondary to xa nga hard disk. I have two hard disk man, usa sa system while kining naguba or shorted HD kay para sa mga files,pictures and other important docu.
