The plot of the movie ANGELS AND DEMONS (and its sequel THE DA VINCI CODE) is purely fictional.
BUT the concepts surrounding the story like the ILLUMINATI and the ANTI-MATTER have proofs of existence. And yes, there are academic books published on the massacre of scientists by the church.
There was even a time when the Catholic church ordered the massacre of many soldiers on the 13th of Friday. This was believed to have been the reason for the Friday the 13th myth.

In fact, this year, very recently, CERN (which is also featured in the movie and the book) implemented the first test experiment for the Large Hadron Collider which releases strong molecular forces to recreate the Big Bang Theory and thus produce the Anti-Matter. The drawback to this is that if it fails it can create daw a blackhole and either suck the planet or release beings from other dimensions. Well, we're still here.. hehe...

While it is only fictitious, the movie and the book can be an avenue to learn more about the workings of the Vatican (e.g. the camerlengo officiating the election of the next pope, black and white smoke), the ambigram symbols, the four elements of the earth, the Priory of Sion, etc.

i've seen the movie.and ive read the books written by dan brown.some parts of the book are fiction,some are facts...the places are facts while the events are purely fiction.it was a nice movie!it kept me at the edge of my seat.luoy au ang akong migo ato kay i kept on slapping his shoulder everytime naay thrill sa movie!hehehehehe!

it depends siguro on the person watching the movies...kay ako,i liked the pace sa Angels and Demons.it was soo fast man gud.i was anticipating what was going to happen next.
