its actually a lot more complicated than you think...ian zafra explained this to us. you need some sort of label or publishing rights, which needs tax declaration and all those hoolabaloo, you need to submit it to the national library in manila....and so on and so fort, di basta2x bai. grabe ka kuti ang process. im not pretty sure of the details though, you can ask ian about this at:

As long as it's dated unya ayaw ablihi... in case nga naay plagiarism nahitabo, naa kay proof nga imohang material mas nauna. This is just a poor man's solution - and I have no idea if it holds water ug magkinasohay diha sa Pilipinas... I know nga di ni siya acceptable sa States tungod nga dali ra i-tamper ang postage stamps, etc...

The safest way is to file a formal copyright application sa copyright office mismo.. I don't think you need a label to apply for a copyright for a song/recorded material.

my kuya once told me that he had his songs copyrighted in songwriter101.com. that if i want to copyright my own songs, i should visit the page.
