Atheists are more "spirituality independent" than theists. I merely substituted financial stability for spirtuality, in my analogy. So please do not confuse "poor" to mean financially poor/rich. Doing so would mean you're interpreting my analogy literally rather than symbolically.

maybe it will only be dangerous if atheists begin imposing their disbelief to others and ultimately seek to destroy organized religion. but so far, wala man tingali.

Good thing you haven't substituted your financial stability, you might not be an atheist now.

I thought atheism doesn't deal with spirituality...

Again, you take things literally. For an atheist, spirituality can mean things other than the common, perceived notion of spirituality (i.e. coming from the root word "spirit") that a theist would define it to be. However, it can merely mean a certain state of mind, a calmness of being, a feeling of oneness with the universe. That's the exact reason why I put the word spirituality in quotes, to put emphasis on the fact that the meaning shifts when viewed from the perspective of a non-theist.

I shall conclude my participation in this thread by stating a response to the thread title, in that I don't find atheism dangerous, and that at times, I find the ideas, actions, and various philosophies of theistic organizations to be more dangerous than those of atheists.

I do not think that the real reason why people accept religion has anything to do with argumentation. They accept religion on emotional grounds...
