However, it can merely mean a certain state of mind, a calmness of being, a feeling of oneness with the universe. That's the exact reason why I put the word spirituality in quotes, to put emphasis on the fact that the meaning shifts when viewed from the perspective of a non-theist.
I shall conclude my participation in this thread by stating a response to the thread title, in that I don't find atheism dangerous, and that at times, I find the ideas, actions, and various philosophies of theistic organizations to be more dangerous than those of atheists.
