Umm... shouldnt this fall under the DOTC? Unsa may labot ni Enrile ani? I can understand shedding light on the problem pero murag this is out of his jurisdiction na.

Much to the astonishment of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, the “load” in his prepaid cellular phone had vanished because he was downloading “ring tones,” according to a representative of his service provider, Globe Telecom Inc.

All in all, the 85-year-old Enrile got seven ring tones for his cell phone.

This explanation from the head of Globe’s corporate and regulations affairs, Caridad Gonzalez, to Enrile’s inquiry on why his load was disappearing when he was not even using the phone or any of its services.

“The account [is] subscribed to ring-tone services and that is actually from our records,” Gonzalez told Enrile and senators Tuesday at the first hearing of the joint inquiry by the Senate committees on trade and commerce and public services on the “case of the disappearing loads” of Enrile.

But Enrile denied he had downloaded ring tones or made use of services other than making voice calls.

hehehe...duda ko si Enrile nangayo ug additional perks sa mga telcos..wala gi grant...mao na nagsaba-saba! Prominent personalities are almost always enjoying "favors" from big companies. Kanang mga politiko naa nay mga "perks" gkan sa mga dagkung companiya dili lang telco.
Unya duol na pud ang election...bwahahaha...sa mailad lang gyud ni.

Kini si Enrile, dili ra man ni senador/politiko. He also owns lots of companies. Unya mag prepaid lang siya? hahaha...postpaid has more perks than prepaid, mas naa pud priority ang mga postpaid kaysa prepaid in terms of network use. Unya basta postpaid ilabi na ug "bigshot" ka, naa kay special treatment from telco personnel gyud, mao lagi nga naa gyud ni siya'y gipangayo unya wala gihatag...mao saba na kaayo. Kini nga arte niya, mura siya ug nangulitawo sa "masa" nga kadaghanan prepaid users at the same time threatening the telcos serving him. Impossible pud ni nga usa ra ka telco iya cellphone.
