ahh here's another difference..


priests study theology in seminaries for 12 years while pastors study the subject for 4 years yet in my observation pastors are more well versed in the bible than priests

Most pastors live by faith, Here in the philippines wala na silay wages pero sa laing dapit naa ang uban dependi sa government. Do really all priest give up everything? ingon lagi sila naay pari, after human sa mesa mu adto sa likod, ug mo lingkod sa laing lamesa(madjong) ?

Yes, priest do give up everything however some are weak as all people does

Major differences between a PASTOR and a ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIEST

Priest: study both philosophy (4 yrs) and Theology (4 yrs) with exposure for 1 yr
Pastor: have secular courses then study theology for 1 or 2 yrs and some 3 yrs depending on denomination or religion

Priest: Have two options become a RELIGIOUS (franciscan, carmelites, dominican, augustinian, piarest, svd, ext.) or a SECULAR priest which is normally called diocesan priest.
Pastor: NONE

Priest: have VOWS for religious (POVERTY, CHASTITY and OBEDIENCE) and PROMISE for diocesans (poverty, chastity and obedience)
Pastor: NONE except to his wife

Priest: Wheres the Casock for diocesan and habits for religious.
Pastor: Polo or barong

Priest: ONLY FOR MEN
Pastor: for MEN and WOMEN unisex

Priest: Say mass everyday and 3x every SUNDAY
pastor: Leads worship ones a week or two

Priest: Can forgive sins
Pastors: cannot

Priest: Follows the cannon law
Pastors: have laws but not standardized
