This incident, particularly the discovery of the bits of wreckage, basically solves the mystery of aircraft disappearances over the so-called Bermuda Triangle, Amelia Earheart, and other similar smaller aircraft disappearances over a vast body of water. So what's the answer to the mystery? Simple, there is no mystery--there simply weren't enough search parties involved to locate wreckage AND the aircraft involved in the incident was to small to have created flotsam. This particular crash mounted an extensive search effort, but if a smaller aircraft was involved, I highly doubt it kung makit-an ba ang wreckage, and thus, if this happened in the 60's or 70's, i-add na sad ni sa mga "unsolved mysteries" kuno of disappearing aircraft over the ocean.

Back to the topic, the Pinoy passenger onboard has been identified as Arden Jugueta, a seaman whose ship docked in Rio. He was on his way home to Manila via Paris. Story below:

OT: Ay sus Rod, ayaw na lang gyud ug palag diha kay favorite pastime man diay ang swimming, which also qualifies him to make statements about what skills one needs or doesn't need for scuba diving. Bu-ang bu-ang gyud to ang amo-ang dive instructor nga gipalangoy mi ug 300-m freestyle kay di man diay kinahanglan sa dive course. Nagpa bright-bright lang gyud tong instructora to, angayan gyud labayan ug bayabas ug sambag kung magpalangoy siya sa iyang mga estudyante nga walay "flipper" (i.e. fins) kay wa man diay nay labot sa diving ang pag langoy. Unya di man diay kinahanglan ug timing sa ginhawa kay naa man diay oxygen (i.e. air). Sayop diay ang gi tudlo sa instructor nga ang pag ginhawa sa ilawm kinahanglan nga timing para maayo ang buoyancy ug dili dali mahutdan ug hangin.

Going back on topic, looks like no survivors on this crash. I hope they recover the two black boxes from the wreckage. Looks like a future episode of NatGeo's "Air Crash Investigation."

If there's anyone qualified to recover the black boxes, it's the French. They have some of the best submersibles in the world today. They helped Ballard find the "Titanic" in 1985. The one they're sending to the crash site is capable of diving over 19,000 feet deep.

Ang coincidence daw is that nahitabo ni the same day nga namatay ang last survivor sa Titanic. Weird!

So far no mention of remains, just debris. These are all aerial sightings so far, reported by Brazilian and French search aircraft. When the surface vessels arrive at the debris fields, I'm sure reports will start coming of recovered bodies.
