1 man's bane -another man's boon...somehow i find 99 appealing...in both the melody & musicality perspective...i even find the solo masterfully crafted with mucho feel...as with most songs this band has produced this is a mood song...& it does create a feel of cruising through the famous/infamous interstate highway 99 with it's panoramic landscapes & wide open spaces...true lukather hated this song, but for a personal tragedy that somehow he gets reminded of with this paich masterpiece which went out to become 1 of the band's most popular songs...

i wont hold you back is another toto song that gained much airplay, & it wouldn't come as a surprise that most audiences would root for it to be in a toto concert set list...i just can't get enough of it...georgy porgy is a cool jazzy number of course (boz scaggs influence?), courtesy of dave paich...love that synth solo...so cool...& i can go on forever with the rest of those songs that have but become part of my memories & history as well...

& let us all rise to the national anthem of toto - child's anthem, definitely an integral part toto...with which we go back to the time & place when & where it all began...thank you, pls be seated...hehe...

Akong uncle kusog kaau mo-patukar aning China White, pwerting bug-ata sa bass. Mura pud ni sya'g tuno sa Kashmir sa Led Zeppelin. Oi, na-soundtrack man ang Rock You Like A Hurricane sa Little Nicky nga movie, hehehe! Pero mao lagi, Scorpions are very underrated in the U.S. Kusog lng ni sila sa South America ug Asia.

are u guys fans of jake e. lee? when i was growing up, i had this 'bark at the moon' tape which i probably worn down to the point where it was warped beyond playability. it was my first ozzy tape and i hadn't heard of previous ozzy albums (i grew up in the province where music news were scarce)...at that time, i haven't heard of randy rhoads or brad gillis yet and i thought he was the best.

and now my question....where is he now? i wonder why he doesn't have a career like zakk wylde or marty friedman? that guy should be as big as vinnie moore or joe sat. what do u think?

yeah! it's such a treat to watch simon phillips play...saw him in action in the live in amsterdam vid...this guy's a master musician in his own regard, & all the years of musical collaboration with such music greats as the who, gary moore, rutherford, etc really shows in the lines that his musical precision & innovation manifest...

yes, phillips did work with priest on sin after sin, & on msg's debut album...whew! talk about musical diversity!... this guy's really been around...sklar a lotr character look-a-like, hahaha...bitaw no...

i am a big fan of jake e. lee!...i followed him through ozzy too...bark at the moon was a great album...great rockers : bark at the moon, center of eternity, slow down, rock n roll rebel, waiting for darkness...never grew tired of listening to these...& lee's guitarwork? to die for...

then there was the chart topping ultimate sin album...thank god for the bomb (great intro), never know why, secret loser...lee at his heavy rockin peak...lee certainly deserves to be up on the pedestal with the rest of the axe greats...

after ozzy, lee formed a blues based metal band - badlands...in his lineup was ex-sabbath singer ray gillen (died of aids 1993)...badlands released 3 albums - badlands, voodoo highway, & dusk...scorchers from their debut album include : highwire, dreams in the dark, rumblin train, among others with lee displaying masterfull fretwork in the fully crafted blues metal tracks...

badlands comes highly recommended!!!...for rockers, rock afficionados, rock musicians, & all who dig rock n roll & get off on amazing guitar virtuosity...jake e. lee, we salute you!!!...

    from wikipedia:

" In 2005 Lee released his first album in eight years titled Retraced, which was made up of blues covers from the 1960s and 1970s."

trivia : trying to fill in the vacuum in ozzy's band after rhoad's death, george lynch vied for the lead guitars slot but lost to jake e. lee... i can't imagine just how ozzy would've sounded with lynch handling axeman chores...on the other hand, maybe it would've been collosal at most...

oh man everybodys talking berserker, dieseldust..this is beyond cool. dont know where to start myself here. sorry cant relate toto, shame on me. dont really like love songs but i like 99, i wont hold you back and hold the line.. lets give evh a rest and talk jake e lee. yes berserker bro im a fan of him. though have no idea whats goin on with him lately. but if compared to marty friedman, marty's kinda riff master because of megadeth. look at marty's picking hand.. anyways i also got bark at the moon and ultimate sin. man this album really glamorous. i have guitar world mag features jake lee. fans were asking bout his guitar. was it fender or charvel. jimmy do you have the answer? yes your right man its a charvel. jake uses overdrive boss with the drive put to maximum. he knew randy used the mxr distortion so he never tried to copy randy's piece of work. i love youre no different, now you see it, now you dont, waiting for darkness and im so tired. man we can go on forever listening to this. heres another blasting force secret loser, youll never know why and killer of giants. jake was asked if he took classical guitar lesson. he did but not to the point mastered everything. "shot in the dark.. one step away from you"..bro is it true jake lee was once the guitarist of that 80s group cutting crew?
scorpions... sure china white was always a song for those public utility vehicle during the past. rudolf and mathias is purely, to the point rock heroes. "hard times go..as soon as the good times roll"... "understand that we dont wanna fight". i consider them the group soundtrack to myself. and their ballads still loving you, lady starlight, lifes like a river and fly people fly.. wonderful solo sustain sustain sustain..
i also heared the news bro bout george lynch was about to replace rhoads for ozzfest but there was somehow a turn that jake ended up to be ozzy's guitar player. .you really know it man. you keep on saying salute to our guitar heroes but to me i salute you.. we roll tonight for the guitar bite..

slow down is such a cool tune...just love lee's fretwork in that solo...this tune is so definitive of lee's buzzsaw attack style...which is also vividly illustrated in waiting for darkness...killer of giants has such a neat acoustic intro...i'm willing to bet you know how to play it bro...a great tune here...

i don't know about cutting crew man...what i do know is that lee played in a band called 'rough cutt' (produced by dio) together with craig goldie (who became dio's axeman after vivian campbell)...ronnie james hired lee & they went as far as recording rehearsals, but somehow it didn't work out, & dio got viv...after which lee got it on with ozzy...

before rough cutt, lee was with the band called mickey ratt (which later morphed into ratt) with stephen pearcy (who founded the band), & the late robin crosby...warren demartini latter joined the pack replacing jake e. lee...juan croucier was the last 1 to hop in on the bandwagon...shortly after they changed the band's name to just 'ratt'...

it was dana strum (founding member of slaughter & bassist) who recommended jake to ozzy...& very unfortunately for lynch, lee had the higher card, as strum was also the one who referred rhoads to ozzy, & the madman took his word for a 2nd time...
