    If I may - I interact w. different types of people of different management levels especially w/ agents from the time they join the account until they leave. People change inside the call center industry, and by change i mean drastic change (attitude, points of view, the way they look/dress up). I mean a lot of change - i don't know what causes this, maybe environment, peers, pressure, pay - but one thing for sure the diversity of the people you interact w/ (supervisors, colleagues, customers etc..) has a great impact for change...
    Another thought - he may be able to build up his confidence but the confidence was misdirected...
    **Confront your friend if he indeed is still your friend and give your point of view, give ur friend a chance to talk and explain himself.. we are innocent until proven otherwise....Good Luck
