my point is the reason why noobkiller is detected as a trojan is because its acting like a trojan. and avira anti virus is not intended only to the masses, its also intended for big multinational companies. but if you trust that noobkiller, you can always ignore that when being detected
but still never had any experience regarding that security case of noobkiller, so far so good on my personal
you wont notice security issues if youre only focus on whats happening on the desktop. But if you dig deeper, it might be sending information without your consent. you can check that tru netstat. thats also the reason why even scripts from known games and software are detected as trojan and it could be a tool that can used for intrusion.

@rommel, thanks for the idea of checking the netstat

it's clean though.. nag scan ko ug balik, avira only, its clean except avira's detection on noobkiller.
but the netstat is clean, except some java updater running nga dili ko ka-off.

Anymore news about this? Seems to me it's a blacklisted program and is detected as malware by most antivirus programs.

Other than that, all I know is its made by a Filipino.

Noobkiller is just a small antivirus program created by a Filipino guy named Leerz. The program was designed and created to detect most common viruses or worms more likely created by newbie virus authors. Being as small as it is can somehow be detected to act like a trojan.

no doubt sa noob-killer...mau nang na-detect tu as trojan kay mura man siya ug trojan na manghilabut sa system files. ang naa sa utuk sa avira is any program na manghilabut or mu-modify sa mga system files kay trojan... hahahaha... mas nice jud ang eset...
