MERGED: Is time travel possible?

Hello mga PePz... I think this is impossible, you know why, 'coz if only we cud have this time travel all our present time will be change time to time.... and maybe we don't have better future for us to live... Just think about it.

yes, this is an interesting question for me.. how do we know that someone sa future already travelled sa past and this is now the result?

Is it possible that if one can travel back to the past will require all the energy of the universe (level 3 civilization as they call it) to break the speed of light - which will destroy the universe if we use it and in effect we can only travel once. And because this technology destroys everything else, so we didnt want to use this but what if someone did use it depite the fact.. he travels to past to become god...(imaginative mode. hehe)

Just sharing my ideas (crazy, but who knows, this might become a best seller and a movie someday)...

It can be possible but not in our lifetime or even our children's......the future holds too much mystery and will only confuse us..better to stay i the present because the now is more important.

Yes, hence, the grandfather paradox. Change one bit of circumstance in the past, and the rest is, well.. history. You would have to first overcome philosophical hurdles to even consider time travel.

the only way to resolve the grandfather paradox is for you to be your own grandfather Futurama-style..anyway, i still find predestination paradoxes more interesting..try watching Donnie Darko..

there are ways to solve paradoxes. one is thru parallel universes. when you travel back in time it is not the past universe that you are in - its an identical universe. so when you shoot your grandfather it is not your grandfather that bore your father but a similar grandfather. history is preserved. and the paradox is resolved.

Yes, i think i've read it somewhere that travelling faster than light we may go back to an earlier time. Too bad the equations cant explain it.. I know light speed is the speed limit (cern experiments show that they were able to speed up particles .99c but couldn't go beyond c no matter how much energy they place) but what if we could break the limit??

maybe t1>t2. original time is greater than earlier time.

theres an experiment that has broken the speed barrier but i dont know if this was replicated.

if light is massless and travel at maximumm speed, what then of particles with negative mass? they should be superluminal.
