Mao we dont feel the crisis and recession here on a big scale since big na man daan but the only difference kay recycled and naay spending power ang Filipinos .

Tinuod na people here are very practical about their money.. especially katung mga affected sa recession. But I think it should set a good example in which Filipinos should follow. Pero mao lagi.. lisod usbon ang kina-iya nga na andan.

I know what you're getting at and I do agree to an extent. Let's also remember that Warren Buffet - who is as rich as Bill Gates - lives in a 3,000 sq.ft. House and drives/rides a Lincoln Continental to work. Di man sab siya barat pagka taw and I wouldn't call him a retard at all. BILL GATES himself has a Porsche 911 as his daily driver. Now a PORSCHE is hardly a SPARTAN pero we would expect that he'd have a VEYRON for his daily commute just`cause we know he can afford one sa osa ka oras niyang trabaho.

Sa ako lang sab, ug mo palit man lang ug sinilas and ang akong gipangita sa sinilas is comfort and durability as well as looks, Havaianas would be one of my last choices. There are better options out there. Ones that are really worth the money you're paying for.

Unsaon diay pagkahibaw nga mahalon na nga tsinelas ang gisul-ob sa usa ka tawo? Naay naka engrave nga pangalan?

I wear a generic brand myself, one I've been wearing for years now. But if other people feel like splurging money on flip-flops, dili magsakit akong tiyan.

We all have standards, kung di man ta pareho ug standards, dili necessarily ang amoa sayop. Kung dili ta pareha ug priorities, it doesnt mean impractical na me. Apparently we have different environment. Different culture, atleast we are sorrounded with not the same culture. Ana lang na. Dont expect to make a mirror of what you have there to what we have here. Not everything western culture is applicable here.

If people want to buy it for reasons other than comfort, let them do so. It's their money.

lol. that's it. they're doing it not to "show off" but for self satisfaction. you also get obvious results when you have it. Also, the DIY are way cheaper.

and what made you say it is just to show off and not self satisfaction?

how do you think a thing becomes expensive? Is it because of just the price? we can say havs are expensive at 1000 but a car amounting to 20,000 is cheap.

if your DIY whatever is 350, 350 is cheap as 1000, but in terms of function, 350 DIY is expensive compared to a razor who can also very well do the job.

compare slippers to slippers and car to car. and wax to wax.
but in speaking of function of taking out unwanted hairs, razor can also do that.
    but there are disadvantages
haha. nanu naabot naman ug wax2x. gktawa ko ngtype

but can be pashowoff + self satisfaction. but i know of people who bought them just for that (show off).

because i was trying to explain to you the "function" logic base on an item you can very well relate to.
