i love "coat of love","with you" both by BTU,"blue or pink" i think damian paniki, songs by Roots,ug uban pang mga banda na tig.tukar ur artist dais sauna..daghan sad nindot band sauna oi..although mas simple ang arrangements but mas bug.at paminawon..i have nothing against mga bag.o pero nindot man sad gud maminaw usahay ug original songs kysa cover songs nlng pirmi..

Bit info on this, kita pud ko ani na gig, and guess what! Naay PUNK band naka apil ani na gig ( 1988 or 89 )... mao gani nag ka-gubot... it was a PUNK band covering Dead Kennedy's - kill the poor... nag mosh or "slam dance" pa man to term sa una, unya naay mga tawo na wala kasabot, na-ego na suko, which resulted sa gubot...

CuJo!!!: but u know what?? not to disrespect these bands, but they rarely play their own originals.. people like to watch them because they're very good "performers" not "artists".... although, these bands were born in an era were "performance" meant more than "originality" thats why i don't blame them....

I totally agree. It just feels so good to listen to your own music.

Regarding the topic, I'd say it's a good mixture of both. The older players' technical and diverse skill with their instrument is a good combination with today's musician's creativity and song writing.

The drive to support original local music today is much stronger compared to before and I am one of the strong supporters of original music.

you bring back lots of memories, shoo. dili gyud ko kalimot ana na concert. pinakagubot tingali to adto panahuna. mga taga Abyss man to ba, ngita ug gubot, you're right, that was the last concert held at Philcite. human adto, mga concert sa Sacred Heart Boys, dili na pasudlon kung naka bakus ug sprocket.

good o'l days of local, vocal, and proud. had the pleasure of meeting with most of the bands back then. it was a thriving community, with the strong support of Y101 (particulary Johhny Cawa). i still have the Mango Jam tape and some bootleg clips recorded from Y101

and here's an inside scoop on BTU (went to high school with them). most of the members are now living/working abroad (Canada, China, US). since our golden homecoming (Don Bosco Batch 85, yes we're that old is coming up, one of the planned activities is to hold a reunion concert, prolly with other bands of the time as well.
