The current structure of the AFP is capable of disabling the communist rebels and terrorist / bandits in the south . What the AFP needs are training for counter insurgency and tactical operations . Prolem lang is , even if our AFP are ready for the heat ... if there is no support then walay mahitabo gyud .

Some squads of the US 101st AB we're issued HK416's in Iraq.

murag lalisonon pa man ni ang topic... naa na diay intervention ang US military dinhi sa ato (ayaw nalang pud tong history na ha)? Can we site those specific instances if there's any? We have to be specific coz there may be cases that foreign military interventions are helpful or on the negative side, harmful to us Filipinos..

@ RODION ... then maybe it is issued now to some special units that arent specifically the specops . paratroopers have specialties just like the Force recon of the Marine Corps or the brown water squids . Indeed it could be hyped since these are specific purpose rifles with a specific function because these are not massed produced and not just the standard issues of the respective departments where these units belongs to .

My dream rifle is the SCAR-L, for light, is chambered in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge and the SCAR-H, for heavy, fires 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition. Which some of the SEALS are using right now..
Let the Americans help us, no problem for me..
