my windows installer indicates (in the box/sticker) "FOR DISTRIBUTION IN US/CANADA ONLY"

and I am using it here in the Philippines.

"FOR DISTRIBUTION IN US/CANADA ONLY" means where it's supposed to be sold
it doesn't matter where you use it though. where was it bought?

aside from that... it also determines where your support will be coming from too.

i cant say i haven't ever used any pirated software and I too develop software in the company i work for...buying original software is still the best way to go. But if somehow the price for the software would just lower down then maybe we can "lessen" piracy.
...but for today, its kinda hard to swallow buying/using original software in your PC if the software is priced MORE than the hardware you use...
