Even if he is the president of the USA ... how would you know that he is telling the truth ?
ANyhoo .... talk about umbrella organizations , you dont have to only base it on the color of the skin . You dont have to be white to say you are present in a location where it is inhabited by anti Americans .
" A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. " - 2nd Amendment , Bill of Rights of the United States of America
No one should do so, in my opinion. The world is far better off with power diffused. I think that's true internal to societies as well. I wish it were true that US power was used to "encourage democracy and the freedom to earn an equal wage" and to "promote freedom." I'm afraid that belief will not stand up to investigation.
Why do so many people in this forum try to hold the USA to a standard that is so impossibly high to keep? So quick are you to criticize the US, its people and its ideals... and yet you seldom publicly criticize the current state of affairs in the RP. In case you haven't noticed, the RP is constantly embroiled in allegations of corruption, politically motivated killings, human rights violations, widespread poverty due to squandered funding, almost weekly kidnappings, overthrow the government coups and substandard international ratings. Wake up. There will never be "equal power sharing" or as you suggest, a diffusion of power. If there was, where would the RP (without the US) find itself in the plan? The USA still stands for the kind of freedom and democracy that defines the dreams of the oppressed living in so many other countries. The presence of the US military in your country is for your security and to help your military become more self-sufficient. Enjoy the assistance while it lasts. It probably won't be around much longer. The amount of military aid you receive from the US is decreasing by 50% each year because of the complete lack of reciprocation from the RP. You haven't been much of an ally as of late, and the handshake grows weaker. Are you really ready to stand on your own?
The strategic situation in the Philippines is the least of the world's worries. Just this week, the situation in South Asia has taken a turn for the worse as Taliban militants advance inexorably towards Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.
Let's hope the US joins the rest of the world in watching from the sidelines as Taliban militants slowly take over Pakistan and ultimately realize the heretofore hashish pipe dream of a militant Islamist nuclear-armed state.
Perhaps this is an illustration of that ideal of "diffusion of power?"
Notwithstanding the recent donor pledge conference in Tokyo, the Pakistani government has been pretty good at charting the country's course and steering the ship of state without help from other countries.
NOT!
