Malapit nang mag-umpisa ang taping ng teleserye na pagbibidahan ni Lorna Tolentino sa ABS-CBN.
Makakasama niya sa teleserye si Gabby Concepcion na ilang beses nang nakapareha ni LT sa pelikula.
Pinaghahandaang mabuti ni LT ang pag­babalik sa telebisyon dahil alam niya na matagal nang naghihintay ang kanyang mga tagahanga.
Mga e-mail ng papuri sa acting ni LT sa Maalaala Mo Kaya ang mga natatanggap ko mula sa kanyang fans. Talagang excited na raw sila na mapanood si LT sa primetime. Sandali na lang ang ipag­hihintay nila dahil mag-uumpisa na ang taping ng bagong TV series ni LT sa ABS-CBN.

WRITERS at the presscon of "Nasaan Ka Maruja" have noticed how much more pleasant Kristine Hermosa is these days. Before, she was aloof and acted like she's just forced to answer when interviewed by writers as it's part of her job. She has changed and it's definitely for the better. Good for her.

She has matured and hopefully, this will also make her a better actress. She's also no longer evasive when asked about her private life.

She's glad to be back on TV with "Nasaan Ka Maruja" to be shown on "Komiks Presents" starting May 2 at 6 p.m., replacing Luis Manzano's "Flash Bomba". This is a TV adaptation of the Mars Ravelo novel that has been filmed twice, one in the 60's starring Susan Roces and Romeo Vasquez for Lea Productions and one in the 90s starring Carmina Villaroel and Rustom Padilla for Viva Films. There's also a take off on it, "Gumising Ka, Maruja," starring Susan Roces in 1978, directed by the late Lino Brocka.

"We're faithful in adapting the original komiks story," says Jerome Pobocan, director of "Nasaan Ka Maruja." "Nandun 'yung basic story of reincarnation, but we tweaked it at nilagyan namin ng twist with Kristine as Cristy having psychic abilities at nakakakita siya ng multo. We did this for the primetime Saturday night market kasi kung the usual straight drama lang, it won't be as attractive, so ginawa naming love story pa rin, pero may suspense-mystery. Dati, puro superheroes ang napapanood sa slot na ito, so we're offering this for a change. As Cristy, Kristine can help the problems of souls who are stranded here on earth. First ghost na tinulungan niya rito is Assunta de Rossi, na akala niya, secretary ng kanyang psychiatrist na si Tirso Cruz III pero multo na pala. Multo rin sina Lyka Ugarte, Ryan Eigenmann, James Blanco, at Mat Ranillo III. Lahat sila, tutulungan ni Cristy and, in the process, she will be able to find out kung nasaan si Maruja na siyang personal problem niya."

Unlike the movie versions where Maruja lived in Spanish times, the TV version is updated and Maruja's story now took place just after World War II. Why did they choose Derek Ramsay as Kristine's leading man and not Jericho Rosales?

"Jericho is meant for a movie with her and another soap," says Direk Jerome. "Si Derek, bagay na bagay sa role niya. Rough looking pero mukhang may breeding at mayaman. Lalaking-lalaki ang dating. Ka-love triangle nila rito si Karylle who plays Kristine's half sister in the present time. Puno na ng surprises at twist ang story nitong bagong version ng Maruja."
