Is it okay to work in a company who just had retrenchment last year and 2009?

why not? having a layoffs last year or just recently this year doesn't mean that a certain company is not competitive anymore...

yeah. why not? getting hired is not easy nowadays. for now, don't think of any negative in a company because many are badly looking for a job, many were laid off and desperate to find one. you should count it as a blessing... just think. a company will not hire new workers if they are struggling. just my opinion.

why not? because that means theyre downsizing or cost cutting. it only shows that they are affected by the global crisis. but did i say that theyre not competitive anymore? NO! and if theyre hiring, then theres a BIG possibility that you cannot stay long in that company. retrenchment last year and that early this year is DEFINITELY not a good sign. whatever reasons they may have. might as well look for a company that is STABLE enough not to retrench employees. theres a lot to choose from if u only look. by the way, may i know what company is this?
