    thinking outside the box

pwede mo bribe nalang cla someone from the inside.
    inside tampering

I'm just imagining if ma hack ni then the hacker would tell mga 50%
    sa vulnerability nga makit.an
If i-improve ang system, still they have the other 50% and the bidding starts.
Or sell the information for millions of pesos, multiply that to the number of politicians kwarta napud.

Default CAYETANO CHALLENGES HACKERS - Hack poll machines and win P100M

The proposal of Sen. Alan Cayetano to give a sum of money to anyone who can actually hack the computerized poll automation of COMELEC is a clear manifestation of the culture of mistrust in the Philippines.

Can we just for once, believe that the upcoming elections will be free of fraud and cheating. I know it's hard but if the proposed poll automation will not push through, then it it will absolutely dampen our chances to ever having a "clean" election since the computerized poll automation is a big step in modernizing the election and voting process in the Philippines. The money (100M) promised by Senator Cayetano should just be used for other gainful purpose which will champion the cause of the Filipino people.

wa tingai ni kita si Cayetano ug Die Hard 4 ai..hehe..be careful what you wish for noy..

wa man gihapoy gamit kung ang votes i.tamper ghapon by the people supervising the automated poll system labi nang taga-Comelec where there is little transparency..IMO they will have to implement the automated poll system in a way na mlikayan nang mga hinang.gaw by having real-time updates, having a third-party double check and giving public access to digital records..just my two cents..

Cayetano's proposal is an open invitation to everyone because he really intends to humiliate the proponents of an automated poll. If ever, then he will be the one to look for a hacker to hack the systems just to prove himself. I think he wants to have a modernized poll system too but it's just in his nature to discredit the moves of the government.

An automated poll is a big leap for the Philippines in terms of development in our electoral system. If we let this opportunity go away this time then we would be lagging behind other nations which have already advanced their election process.

Obviously, the senator wants to be in the limelight again. Maybe he needs to be his controversial self again because he will seek reelection.

The automated polls is what we have waited for ever since. The questions that they are putting in our minds are just a pace to give them a share of the limelight. After all, they all need it for their own interest. On the other hand, automated polls will continue no matter what. Now, the unfortunate candidates will have to find some other reasons than the thought of having been cheated by the winning candidate.

It's a good law, actually. Questioning it will not be a good move. The bill only invites hackers, to the extent that it would seem that hacking is a good thing.

Can we afford to wait another 6 years of political instability? Yes, automation of electoral system is a good start as you've mentioned and no doubt on that. This time, this concern let me think that why we shouldn't give this a try. We can't merely say that this May 2010 elections will not be successful or "cheating-free" if we shouldn't implement the automated system. And as we all know that the "manual voting system" is not worth trusting for over the past years.
