I don't even think this "law" they're allegedly violating is constitutional. I don't care for bikini opens. But if we outlaw something as "harmless" as that, what's next? Are we going to have a religious police? Actually, I'm actually surprised this has become a scandal, whether it's just at the municipal or provincial level. National level scandal?! Can't we just leave consensual adults alone? Kung di na minors nag rampa diha, unsa o kinsa man ang gi protectahan ani nga law, nga ganahan man to magpakita nga gabikini sila ang hing apil? Laws regarding rape are very clear. This law is murky... who defines what is being treated like a *** object? What if the woman herself who is already an adult wants to be treated that way? What if she wants to show off her nice figure? And what about those women who think they have nice figures but are really not that nice? How exactly is Miss Universe or Bb Pilipinas different from other beauty pageants? Di na puwede ang mga taga Cebu mo apil?
Now what? Is the governor appointing herself to be the beauty pageant or beachwear censor of the entire province? Gosh, we have pirated DVDs being peddled all over the province, a large percentage of which are porn. They can't even control that... There are *** scandal videos being scattered all over the place. And the governor wants to watch beauty pageant videos of the entire province so she can censor them or see who violates this "law"? How about other laws and other crimes that are being committed here? I think the governor has a right to ask mayors not to allow scantily clad women in town fiestas, as there are public funds used in those events. But to censor what is going on inside a private beach resort? I respect the governor for her other political decisions and what she has done for Cebu. And if it's about how to decrease teenage pregnancies, how to persecute and decrease the number of rape cases, or how to improve the income of women so they don't prostitute themselves, those are very worthy causes and those are the "mountains". Bikini opens are just "molehills."
