    Let me guess.

LCD monitors relies on the videocard of the PC.

LCD TV has its own videocard, tuner, and processor to make it stand on its own.

Videocard, tuner and processor are expensive, hence the price difference.

Di ko makiglalis hehehehe ako ni opinion.

Para nako mao ni na observe nako, mas simple ang tv mao mahal, why I say simple? kay plug and play man diretso no need mga mas maka.mao mo taod sa mga wiring, ang uban gani bisan pag taod lang sa uban wire ma ngayo gihapon ug tabang bisan simple ra kau nga A/V cables and etc.

    LCD TV
    - Power Wire
    - Cable Wire

    LCD Monitor, needs
    - Power Wire
    - Video Cable to Stand alone TV/Cable tuner, needs
    ------------- Power adapter
    ------------- Sound wire, goes to
------------------ Sound Amplifire 2.1 or 5.1 or 7.1 speaker, needs
    ------------------ Speakers and other wires

    /////////////////////////// or

    - PC with tv tuner, needs
    -------- mouse, keyboard, etc. etc.

Hasol kau wirings sa LCD Monitor sa? Unlike sa TV. Mao na mahal ang TV. Pero when it comes to clarity adto ko sa LCD Monitor.

For example ha katong karaan nga CRT monitor e compare nimo sa TV. Try to plug your Video card Video out to TV, and compare the clarity of the picture. Diba dagko kau ug pixel? Mao sad na naka advantage sa Computer Monitors.

I saw sa mga appliance store uban leading brand sa LCD TV when you get closer ang mga picture bati kau, murag ang compresion niya lain murag blured. Pero depende sa brand sa LCD TV.

Para di na dyud ma hasol, you can find LCD Monitor with TV Tuner. Naa naman daghan baligya dire sa ato. China lang to nga LCD Monitor with TV, pero naay brander pero mahal kau. Viewsonic N3762W 37" LCD TV 41,715.00

    SOLVE diba?

    Back on topic:

TV tuning is cheap, I can even make one out of scrap.

Remote Control system is really cheap too, I can make one out of rubbish.

Speaker, halos walay diperensya in quality even if you go on bravia tvs. People will buy a set of speakers man gyud instead of using the stock speakers naa sa TV.

if LCD TVs are expensive, then why do these 3 things I have said seems to be expensive than the LCD screen itself?
the biggest factor that contribute to the price difference is the kind of panel that they use
TN panels are generally cheaper compared to IPS and VA panels.
    More about the panels

I'm using an lcd tv mas nindot ang quality sa display compared sa lcd monitor

then in the LCD TV mos of us dont use the built-in speaker most especially if u are a techy person, u want the upgraded speaker like w/ SUB.

ako man gud g compare ang specs sa LCD tv ug LCD monitor. mas taas ang Dynamic contrast sa LCD monitor kay sa LCD TV.

    One more thing

TN panels have excellent response time compared to the other panels,
making them a good choice for fast paced games.
That's another advantage of LCD monitor.

Naa man sa Samsung bro, LCD TV nga 26", full HD, 1920x1080. Full HD is 1920x1080, right, 16:9 aspect ratio.
