I wouldn't recommend this, it slows your hard drive down since the read/write head has to go back and forth to move files/applications for virtual memory/paging. Virtual memory or paging files SHOULD be on a different drive.

To use a partitioned against a non-partitioned HDD? even if you use the whole space of the HDD,
you still need to partition it. question should be either to use single or a multi-partition. non-partitioned
HDD will render it useless. (correct me if i'm wrong)

Using multi-partitions on a single HDD will sacrifice performance but will save you money than getting
    more drives.

As long walay mechanical error ang drive, 99.9% files are still recoverable.

but it serves as one of the purposes of partitioning, recommendable or not. XD

^ very well said. now it goes down to this:

if you want performance, leave it unpartitioned; data redundancy (of a lesser degree), partition your drive.

thank you elder bro's sa world of computer! Daghan ang mi pabor pag multi-partition sa HDD ug ang klaro ra gyud nga rason is ang pag separate sa system ug user data, right? very obvious kay sa single partition nag share ra man ug usa ka drive space ang system ug ang data --usually drive C, am i right? now i want to know it clearly in terms of its performance such as speed and life span of the HHD, to which has its advantage?

Partition is good. Much better to separate hard drives for stable performance. Heres my current setup.

C: systems, applications and games (500GB)

    D: My documents : mp3, movies, pictures, applications.exe etc (1TB)
    E: My documents : mp3, movies, pictures, applications.exe etc (1TB )
Note : Both D & E were already Raid What is RAID? - A Word Definition From the Webopedia Computer Dictionary

F: Performance for memory usage only (250GB)

PSU : Cooler Master - Ultimate provider of Computer Chassis | Cooler | Power Supply

All drives are Sata .. for furture upgrade.. SSD ( mahal pa karon)
