Hi to all. This has been a very informative thread for a newbie like me.
I have plans to embark on this great hobby, and I'm currently doing research on entry-level AG rifles that won't hurt much on the pocket/wallet.
So please help me out with these super-newbie questions:
1. Which would you recommend: a .177 caliber or a .22 caliber? Why? What are the pros and cons of each?
2. What is the best and most accurate kind of AG for an entry-level enthusiast: (a) spring, (b) CO2, or (c) PCP? Why? Which models of AGs would you recommend that fall under the type you chose?
3. Do you have any personal experience with these AGs: (a) CZ Slavia 625, (b) Crossman 2100B, and (c) Armscor standard? In terms of accuracy, durability, sturdiness, availability of parts and accessories, "customization-friendliness," and price, which among the three do you think is best? What are the pros and cons of each?
I know I've asked a lot, and those would take some time to answer, but I hope you won't mind helping another potential convert to this amazing sport.
Salamat gid nga madamo! (I'm Ilonggo, by the way.)
If i may add, those Hatsan AGs I've seen here look really tempting.
I personally like this one, Torpedo 150 (HATSAN ARMS COMPANY - AIRGUNS TORPEDO 150 (NEW)).
Another question: What is/are the downside/s of break-barrel AGs (especially in the long run)? Would you advise against getting a break-barrel AG then?

for Co2
- .177 pellet travels in a straighter path lesser curve.. but prone to wind drift because of pellet weight.
- .22 pellet travels with more curve than .177 but lesser prone to wind drift because of pellet weight.
For PCP
pellet path almost the same.
2. What is the best and most accurate kind of AG for an entry-level enthusiast: (a) spring, (b) CO2, or (c) PCP? Why? Which models of AGs would you recommend that fall under the type you chose?
- depends on what to use for. all has its advantages and dis advantages
- co2.. its cheap.. gud for newbie.. entry level gun.. price range 5k-10k pesos gun only
other accessories include.. co2 tank, scopes. disadvantage.. power can be affected by weather change.. hot and cold temp.
- Spring.. haven't used this one.. advantages no need to fill air or co2 to shoot.. all u need is to cock and shoot.. dis advantage.. kapoy cge og cock sa spring hehehe..
- PCP kinda expensive.. cheapest so far from FILARMS CB and CJ model 10k up other manufacturers JBC and Mario Muli.
Good for beginners and for serious airgunners.
cons.. mahal lang.. and yu need to fill it with compressed air..
accessories needed.. manual pump or scuba tank.. scopes.. pressure gauges.

- all i have is armscor executive .22 co2, JBC PCP .22.. with my armscor so far walay probs.. dali ra e maintain.. shoots well just need some few tuning.

- we have lots of friends in negros and ilo-ilo thats into airgunning they started co2 now PCP..
enjoy the hobby.. be a responsible airgun owner.. good luck to!
Thanks for the prompt reply, Scope_Hunting Sir.
Those are very helpful inputs. I really need those to make an informed choice.
Does anyone here own AGs manufactured by Eskopeta & Estrella Parco Metal Fabrication, Inc. from Metro Manila?
I have stumbled on their line of AGs here: Airgun Riflle And Pellets Offered Paranaque City Philippines : Sulit.com.ph.
They look way cheaper compared to Armscor's, but, of course, price isn't just the only consideration in deciding on which AG to buy.
