korek...just like I said, let's not jump the bandwagon. Congress should also be careful with this "FINANCIAL OPENNESS" compliance w/ the OECD to avoid infringing on rights to privacy and confidentiality, but enough teeth to collar tax cheats.

If our laws force every citizen and business entities to be totally transparent w/ their finances, no investor would come to our country and invest...one concern would be their personal safety. Naa rba tay daghan kidnap2x ron...mabulahan nya ani c Ping! hehe

Ako as a private citizen and businessman, i don't want my bank acct and details to be known to anybody w/o my approval op kors. Bsan pa walay sulod nga money akong bank acct, nobody has the right to peek unless it has my authorization...much more pa kha sa mga dagko nga establishments...

besides, we already have the anti-money laundering law and our public servants submitting their SALN every year...

and there are other more effective ways to get people to pay taxes u know...

RP taken off OECD tax haven blacklist PARIS -- The OECD said on Tuesday that the four countries on a tax haven blacklist, published as part of agreements at last week's G20 summit, have committed to meeting international standards and will be removed form the list.
Last Thursday, the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development placed Uruguay, Costa Rica, Malaysia and the Philippines on the blacklist as part of efforts agreed at the Group of 20 leaders summit to crack down on tax evasion.

The OECD published three lists -- black, grey and white -- which respectively identify the worst offenders, those that are somewhere in-between, and those who are considered as fully committed to internationally acceptable standards.
The removal of the four countries from the blacklist was announced in a statement and at a news conference where OECD chief Angel Gurria said:"This very important move by so many jurisdictions ... is one of the first deliverables of the G20 meeting."
He was referring to the G20 summit of world leaders which last week asked the OECD to publish the blacklist in a renewed move to crack down on tax fraud across the globe.
