@junmar4: youre absolutely right bro mas maka daginot paka ang disadvantage lang niya kay hassle sa service warranty, hassle pa RMA, di ka ka kita sa actual product, risky kay we dont know if its bnew or refurbished and we have to wait and even cant say ma abot ang product dayon sa exact time.

My opinion lang na ha hope you dont mind!

For the brand new or refurb issue, the buyer should know what he is buying.

For the RMA, mas daghan pa ko naexperience nga guba na napalit sa Pinas than sa US or uban pa na counties, mura 50:1 ang ratio.

Thanks for your thoughts mga boss. I've compared man gud the prices given online are cheaper when converted to peso. I've window shopped at sm and ayala and some compu stores the past two weeks and found out that local prices do not differ that much but compared to online prices, it is really huge. I understand the rationale why i should buy it here.
But then again since i'm going for toshiba (or maybe dell). it is most likely that i'll have to order online coz i've seen toshiba only at octagon. I don't where else to find locally.(and only one model). so doesn't have much options. hehe
So if makahatag mo idea asa pa ko makakita ug lain toshiba diri, i would really appreciate that.
And what if i will order online, how many days (or weeks) will it take for the shipment to reach my door? And how much probably is the shipment fee? Thanks again daan.

Can you give me the model or maybe the specs what you are scouting for in Cebu shops so that we can give you the counterpart price in US?

For the shipment part, sa akoa, 1 week ra from US-Cebu. Ang issue nga madugay, if ever, would be from store to courier.

Suggestion lang bro, if you really want to purchase online from stores in the US, suwayi na ang Johny Air cargo sa SM, they offer the service. They can do it for you, naa man gud sila counterpart didto sa US then adto ra nila address ang mga online purchases then i apil ra nila og ship sa ila mga shipment padung diri pinas. Just a suggestion, maybe it would end up cheaper.

For me, I would go purchase online. Per experience, my family have purchased a total of 4 laptops online, and wa man problem so far, purya buyag, basin swerti lang gyud or di gyud dali maguba ang laptop. One laptop is almost 5 yrs old, the two others are 3 yrs old, and 1 was purchased last year.

If I could save 5k above, I would take the risk kay I think its a good risk-reward ratio. I saw one laptop priced at 75k at sm and its only 42k on newegg, go figure.

Not when you send with JAC or via Balik Bayan Box...
I got my VC ( 8800GTX Extreme 768MB ) about 8t pesos cheaper and my power supply about 4500 pesos cheaper there, and did not pay any customs/tax etc. (Balik Bayan Box)
