Sakto ka sa imo decission bro, here is the RISK,
1. dapat imo PC fast ug ang imo connection is fast ug di permi ma disconnect
2. web server management, dapat kabalo ka
3. ang mas bug-at ang imo budget, sa kurente palang dako na 24/7 imo gamit, kaysa mag hosting kalng with 50 to 100 pesos a month ang budget. layo kaayo ang deperencya.

naka try ko ug ingon ani nga situation before.
I hosted a forum site and a 10gb FTP site on a local PC(Windows 2000 Server SP4). I used XAMPP to host them all.
What I did:
-install XAMPP
-setup forum & ftp site (with all security and access)
-install 3rd party kick-ass firewall
-setup a free domain name from no-ip.com
and viola a locally hosted site.
Note: they are right, you must know what you are doing, you have to setup everything specially security. If wala kay know-how sa security! Epic Fail jud na imong server.
hoi.. choas.. haha.. kinsa man ka ba..
todloe nalng ko.. eheh.. try try lang gud ko..
bro, mas maayo jud mag abang nalng ka sa imo server... kung small site lng, naa may $7/month...
sa Philhosting - Philippines' No. 1 Web/Email Hosting provider | Providing affordable and reliable web services for everyone. ako mn gani nag abang nalng ko sako server which costs $224 per MONTH. pero sulit ramn kay dako mn sad kug bawi. hehe
if gusto jud ka mo-host ug imong site one thing u must consider is security. kinahanglan naa jud kay knowledge sa security before anything else. The rest, dghan documents karon on how to setup your home server. i-google lng sir dghan ka makita nga articles about setting your home web server.
Much better jud if naa kay knowledge sa linux OSes. Thoug other OSes pwde mahimong server. Naay nindot nga ug step by step tutorial sa "tizag". tan.awa lng.
