For the benefit amongst who have not read the book, will you mind sharing to us St. Augustine's secret?.

The work outlines Augustine's sinful youth and his conversion to Christianity. It is widely seen as the first Western autobiography ever written, and was an influential model for Christian writers throughout the following 1000 years of the Middle Ages. It is not a complete autobiography, as it was written in his early 40s, and he lived long afterwards, producing another important work (City of God); it does, nonetheless, provide an unbroken record of his development of thought and is the most complete record of any single individual from the 4th and 5th centuries. It is a significant theological work. In the work St. Augustine writes about how much he regrets having led a sinful and immoral life.

The bible did not really say that Saturday is the 7th day. All of us start working on Monday, so the first day is Monday then we rest on a Sunday, which is the 7th day of our work week.

why does a catholic need to go to confession?

then they say that you are not forgiven. if you die without a confession then you are not welcomed in the gates of god.

does it always have to be a gate? why not a draw-bridge? or simply just a door? what if that person does not need to have a confession because it doesn't apply to him because he's not catholic? what happens to him when he dies?
