Religion is an approach to Human Spirituality.

It is a materialistic approach.

again, if you trace the meaning of religion, it is the same with the current meaning of spirituality most folks here assume.

religion means a relationship with transcendence.
It does not necessarily mean institutional.
It does not necessarily mean it is dogmatic.
It does not necessarily mean that it is communal.
And all its opposite are also not necessary.

Spirituality is a new invention. And the meaning of Religion has been tarnished by referring it to an Institution which is not really so.

but even religion as a community and an institution is necessary, because it bridges the ideals of Goodness in its most general sense to that of praxis to society.

Truth and Practice is one of the qualities of the necessity for communal institutional religions.
